Winnona, MO. (December 1, 2012) — Current River Mfg, Inc, parent company of Assassinator Baits announced today the company has resigned an endorsement deal with professional bass angler Dustin Wilks. Wilks will help the company build upon its reputation as an innovator/manufacturer of premium, high performance fishing tackle for fresh- and saltwater sportfishing.

Wilks, of Rocky Mount, North Carolina, is ranked 19th in the Bassmaster Elite Series 2011 standings and will be a top contender again in 2012. Look for Wilks as he makes his sixth career appearance in the 2012 Bassmaster Classic on Red River, Shreveport-Bossier City, LA in February 2012.

”Dustin Wilks is an extremely gifted angler who shares our priorities/goals in family and fishing. He has the attitude, experience, and skill it takes to win the Classic, and we believe that the Pro Assassinator™ can help him attain that goal,” said Mark Miley, president of Current River Mfg.

”I’m excited to be part of Assassinator Baits, again in 2012. I used a Assassinator Buzzbait to catch the 7.8 pound big bass of the tournament during the 2011 Pride of Georgia tournament; Assassinator has proven products and great customer service which I can depend upon no matter where in the world, I might wet a line” says Wilks

Side note; Wilks employed a 3/8 Black and Red, Assassinator Buzzbait to set the all time record for the “Day on the Lake” in 2009, in Bassmaster Magazine

Current River Mfg-Assassinator Baits manufactures premium, high-performance fishing lures and terminal tackle. Their spinnerbaits and buzzbaits are made in America’s heartland, were conceived on the clear rivers of Missouri and have been honed and tournament-tested on lakes and rivers across the U.S. To learn more about Assassinator Baits, go online to www.assassinatorbaits.com or call 573-325-4040.

It seems like we hear about or witness cheating anglers more often with each passing year. I don't know if it's the prestige of winning a bass tournament or the money that goes along with it, or both.
