Chris Ingram of Eclectic, Ala., caught a five-bass limit weighing 21 pounds, 15 ounces April 16 to win $4,000 in the BFL Bama Division tournament on Lay Lake. He was running grass using a black jig to haul in his catch.

Tom Frey of Oxford, Ala., caught a five-bass limit weighing 15 pounds, 11 ounces April 16 to win $2,000 in the Co-angler Division. He was using chartreuse and white spinnerbaits in grassy areas and points in creeks.

The next BFL Bama Division tournament is scheduled for June 18 on Lake Neely Henry in Gadsden, Ala. After the fifth Bama Division tournament is complete, the top 40 boaters and 40 co-anglers based on point standings will qualify for the Oct. 20-22 Regional Championship on Lake Chickamauga in Chattanooga, Tenn. Boaters will compete for a top award of a Ranger 198VX with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Mercury outboard and a Chevy pick-up, while co-anglers will fish for a new Ranger 198VX.
